At mushco, we have collaborated with companies and individuals who share our belief in the new possibilities of mushrooms to create new value that is considerate of society and the environment.

ETHICAL DESIGN WEEK TOKYO 2024 (Semba Expo Exhibition Co., Ltd.)

We participated as a co-creation partner in "Ethical Design Week Tokyo 2024," a co-creation sustainability event that started with spatial creation. Based on the theme of "sustainable and unique," mushco undertook initiatives to explore new forms of sustainable society, attracting the interest of many people.

Going forward, through collaboration with a variety of companies, we hope to expand the use of mushroom leather and other mushroom-derived materials beyond the apparel and accessories sectors, into interior design and other areas. Through co-creation, we aim to shape a more sustainable future.

Ethical Marche MoFF 2024 (Freewill Co., Ltd.)

As a co-creation partner, we participated in "MoFF (The Museum of Freewill & Future) 2024," an event themed on "communicating and being communicated (tells)," held in a museum-like space with a strong emphasis on art and creativity.

This event was mushco's first time participating in a pop-up event, and it was a valuable opportunity to directly communicate to many people the potential of mushroom-derived materials, including mushroom leather. We hope to continue to widely spread the appeal of mushco's materials and products through various events and collaborations in the future.

From 2024 to 2025, our products were distributed at "aeru gojo" in Kyoto, where many customers from Japan and abroad were able to purchase them.

Mushroom Leather Art

Title of work: “CONNECT”

This two-dimensional piece is made from offcuts of mushroom leather, which is imbued with the life of fungi. In collaboration with an artist whose theme is animal life, a stylish art panel was created using organic materials that evoke the life of the earth. In a modern society dominated by uniform mass-produced goods, the unique texture of this panel adds space to our lives and reminds us of the diverse expressions of life that we have almost forgotten.

1st Sustainable Forest Association (Daicel Corporation, Myaku, Somanobase, Morigene)

We hosted the first event, "Sustainable Forest Association," with the theme of "Sustainable forests in Japan through co-creation."
The offline networking event was very lively, with people coming together from a wide range of fields. It was an evening that really made us realize the potential of forest co-creation. Thank you again to everyone who participated!

mushco's strengths lie in its ability to source mushroom-derived materials both domestically and internationally, its network of domestic mushroom researchers, its extensive knowledge, and its design capabilities.
